🎮 From Sims to Baldur’s Gate 3: My Gaming Journey

 Every gamer has a story, how they started, what shaped them, and why they keep playing. Mine isn’t the longest journey, but it’s one filled with discovery, storytelling, and unforgettable moments.

My gamertag, Ackerman, comes from the anime Attack on Titan, my all-time favorite. The name represents strength, resilience, and a bit of that intense energy the series is known for. It felt right to carry that identity into my gaming world.
My very first game was The Sims. Long before I had a gaming PC, I spent hours on my old computer playing every version I could get my hands on. Those games are still close to my heart, they were my introduction to creativity, freedom, and storytelling in gaming.

If I had to choose a favorite game of all time, it would be Baldur’s Gate 3.

What makes it special to me is the depth of storytelling and its connection to Dungeons & Dragons. As someone who runs my own DnD campaign, I really appreciate:

  • The freedom of choice
  • The multiple endings
  • The ability to shape your character and their journey

For me, nothing beats a game where your decisions truly matter.

While I love deep RPGs, I also enjoy fast-paced multiplayer games like:
  • Phasmophobia
  • Valorant
These are the games I usually play with friends, and honestly, that’s where some of the best moments happen. Whether it’s ghost hunting gone wrong or clutch plays in a tense match, it’s always a blast.

I’d say I enjoy both FPS and RPGs equally. I like variety, switching between intense action and immersive storytelling. But if I had to pick one thing that defines my taste in games, it would be this:

A good story will always win.

My gaming journey didn’t start early. I got my gaming PC about five years ago, and since then, I’ve been catching up on all the classics people call “nostalgic.”

Gaming quickly became more than just a hobby; it became an escape. Between studies and work, it gave me a space to relax, explore, and just enjoy the moment.
I haven’t fully figured out where I fit in the gaming world yet, but I know what I want:
  • To attend gaming conventions
  • To experience new games as they release
  • To keep enjoying the worlds and stories games have to offer

And honestly, that’s enough for now.
